For imparting entrepreneurship and skill development training, the program under special plan was approved by DPC,Pune in 2006-07. The programme was planned and monitored by the District Collector of Pune.
Unemployment is a major challenge before us. Large no of youths needs to be put in action or work to make them productive, so that this workforce can become backbone in development of nation and to reduce social problems arising out of unemployment. In 2006, an innovative programme for imparting entrepreneurship and skill development training was launched in Pune district under Special plan mainly to make 10,000 SC youths employable.
As the Collector of Pune, I took lead to prepare programme involving industrialist association, industry officers, SDO, Tahsildars, BDO and Bank officers, expertise and all taluka level functionaries. In order to impart an excellent quality training, Executive committee was formed under Chairmanship of Collector Pune for effective implementation and monitoring of programme.
